A new digital Lockheed Electra L10E “Special”

item3

Amelia Earhart with her new, yellow, Cord automobile and her Lockheed Electra bimotor monoplane, 1936.

If no one can find Amelia Earhart’s plane, lost somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, why not make a L10E “Special” of our own? You could test fly it anywhere around the world. THE ELECTRA PROJECT is doing just that – making a new digital model that flies like the real thing. It comes complete with all the aviation gas you will ever need. Creating the model was supposed to take 6 months, yet one year later the model is still in test flights, and getting finishing touches. Some details have been lost to history; others have recently come to light during research. This web site announces our aviation history efforts, and our commitment to complete the digital model. THE ELECTRA PROJECT is dedicated to learning about the L10E “Special” (in 1937 a new, bimotor, monoplane), and the famous aviatrix who flew it. There is more to accomplish before we can fly this virtual plane in honor of Amelia Earhart’s around the world attempt.
